Due to a spinal bone degeneration issue, B Sumeeth Reddy was advised by his physicians to give up badminton almost ten years ago. He will play mixed doubles for India in Birmingham.

India’s B Sumeeth Reddy, a doubles specialist and member of the mixed team that won a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, has revealed that he will no longer play badminton in order to devote himself fully to coaching. On social media on Sunday, the 33-year-old Hyderabadi, who played mixed doubles with a number of shuttlers, including his wife N. Sikki Reddy, and formed the men’s doubles pair with Manu Attri, made the announcement.In addition to winning the gold medal at the 2016 South Asian Games and qualifying for the Rio Olympics, Sumeeth and Manu, who had the highest world rating of 17, also competed for the men’s team at the Asia Team Championships in Hyderabad. In addition to winning the 2015 Mexico City Grand Prix and the 2016 Canada Open, he also finished second in the US Open and Dutch Open in 2015 and represented India at the Asian Games in 2014 and 2018.
