A statement released on Thursday stated that Bangladesh will visit the US for the first-ever bilateral T20 series in May, which will take place prior to the 20-over World Cup.
Prior to the World Cup, which the United States and the West Indies are jointly hosting, Houston will host the three-match competition from May 21–25.
Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the chief executive officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, said in a statement that “the Bangladesh team’s upcoming tour of the USA marks a historic occasion.”
“We recognise the significance of this preparatory phase and are committed to making the most of this invaluable experience.”
The World Cup, held in June, will feature twenty teams divided into four groups.
Bangladesh will compete in Group D against Sri Lanka, South Africa, Nepal, and the Netherlands.
Two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight round.
