Brisbane defeated Perth to win their first BBL title in 2012-13. Perth has been looking for their fifth title for ten years. Perth Scorchers will win the game.
Brisbane Heat (HEA) have earned a spot in the event finals after pulling off one of the biggest upsets in the Challenger against Sydney Sixers. Following their struggles and successes in the group stage and elimination rounds, the Jimmy Peirson-led Heat now face the biggest challenge in the league as they prepare to face the defending champions, Perth Scorchers (SCO), at Perth Stadium.
Interestingly, the two sides will meet again at the same venue in Perth as they did in the second season of the Big Bash League (BBL). Brisbane won the coveted trophy back then, but Perth has since become a dominant force, with as many as four titles in their illustrious cabinet.
The game will undoubtedly be exciting, as both teams are looking to add another title to their collection. However, the underlying question is whether the defending champions can reclaim their title at home, or will a resurrected Brisbane cause another upset? When the two forces collide for the final time on Saturday, February 4, all eyes will be on them.
