On February 1, the BCCI hosted the annual Naman Awards 2025, which recognized remarkable achievements in Indian cricket during the previous year. Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary cricketer, was honored with the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes his significant achievements to the sport.
Jasprit Bumrah received the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for his outstanding exploits, which included being voted Player of the Tournament in India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign. Smriti Mandhana also shone brilliantly, winning the Best International Cricketer (Women) title and being named the top run-scorer in Women’s ODIs.
Other significant winners included Sarfaraz Khan, who earned Best International Debut (Men), and Asha Sobhana, who received the same prize in the women’s category. Deepti Sharma was acknowledged for her remarkable bowling performance, as she took the most wickets in Women’s One-Day Internationals.
The event recognized not only individual greatness but also the collective successes of Indian cricket, with prizes in a variety of categories, including domestic performances. The Mumbai Cricket Association was recognized for its contributions to domestic events, highlighting the growth and skill in Indian cricket.
