Before the Tri-Series, New Zealand Cricket sends a delegation to Pakistan to examine security arrangements

Prior to the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, New Zealand and South Africa will play a tri-series in Pakistan in January.

Pakistan is hosting the multi-team event as a prelude to the ICC Champions Trophy in February and March, and New Zealand Cricket has sent a delegation to inspect security and other arrangements for a scheduled tri-series in January. In addition to hosts Pakistan and New Zealand, South Africa is the third team participating in the event. The New Zealand delegation, which includes security expert Reg Dickason and New Zealand Players’ Association representative Brad Rodden, is in Karachi and Lahore to discuss security arrangements and other event preparations.The New Zealand and ICC teams closely examined the ongoing refurbishment and makeover process at the stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, where the PCB is investing 12 billion rupees to prepare for the Champions Trophy.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated on Friday that the board was prepared to welcome and entertain all teams since stadium construction would be completed before the deadlines.

He also stated that state-level security would be in place for all teams visiting Pakistan, which he will personally supervise as federal minister of interior.As part of their assessment, the NZC group also went to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Rawalpindi Stadium.

Only a few days before the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, Pakistan will host South Africa and New Zealand for an ODI tri-series.
