A BCCI office bearer will now get a daily stipend of USD 1000 for international trips, in addition to flying first-class. The rise in the benefits given to BCCI office holders was proposed at the Apex Council meeting on Sunday, although it went into effect in October. After more than seven years, the daily amount, or per diem, has been updated. When they travelled abroad in the past, the officer bearers of the board with the highest net worth received USD 750 a day.
According to the BCCI document acquired by PTI, the office bearers, including the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary, will also be entitled to Rs 40,000 per day for meetings within India and business class flights.
They will receive a daily salary of Rs 30,000 for “work travel.” They can reserve a suite room for both domestic and international travel.
The perks of the IPL chairman have also been included in the category of office holders.
In addition to receiving USD 500 for international trips, members of the BCCI Apex Council, including two representatives from the Indian Cricketers’ Association, would receive Rs 40,000 per day for their quarterly meetings. However, those that travel abroad for work are mostly office officials.
The board has also changed the reimbursement rates for its state unit members, who will now receive Rs 30,000 for domestic travel and USD 400 for international travel.
The BCCI’s well-paid employees, like the CEO, will get a daily allowance of USD 650 on foreign tours and Rs 15,000 per day within India. The three members of the Cricket Advisory Committee, which chooses the head coach of both the men’s and women’s national teams, will be paid Rs 3.5 lakh each for meetings. Foreign travel is unlikely in their case, but each of them is entitled to an amount of USD 400 per day for this.
