Umran didn’t get any chance to play in the three-match ODI series against Australia’s cricket team.
Umran Malik is the fastest bowler going around in India. He made his ODI and T20I debuts last year. Because of his ability to cross the mark of 150kmh consistently, he has been rated highly by everyone. His international career hasn’t quite gotten off to a fiery start, but he is quite talented to be considered one of the leaders of India’s pace attack. He didn’t even get a chance in the three-match ODI series against Australia. To be fair to Rohit Sharma, it was difficult to play him before Mohammed Siraj and Shami.
Former fast bowler of the Australia cricket team Brett Lee said on Times of India that, “India should play Umran Malik regularly in all three formats. Umran Malik is a wonderful bowler. He has a special talent. “If his workload is taken care of properly, he will do wonders. “I believe he can play all three formats of the game.” “We must manage him correctly.”
Till now, Malik has played 8 ODIs and 8 T20Is for the India cricket team and taken 13 and 11 wickets, respectively. He hasn’t made his debut in test format. Lee also advised the team management and head coach Rahul Dravid to make sure Umran does core strength training and improves on his sprint.
Lee further said, “The best way to manage him correctly is to allow him to bowl, give him as many games as possible, and don’t rest him in every second game.” Just don’t let him go into the gym more and lift heavy weights. He should do some light muscle mass work in the gym, which is important for him. “He should work on his sprinting and obviously his core strengthening.”
