Bumrah surpasses Ashwin’s rating-point record in the most recent ICC rankings

According to the most recent ICC Men’s Test bowling rankings, Jasprit Bumrah broke R Ashwin’s record and recorded the highest rating points total ever attained by an Indian bowler. Bumrah reached 907 ranking points following yet another outstanding performance in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, when he took nine wickets in an innings. In December 2016, Ashwin’s highest rating of 904 was attained.

Ashwin and the current world number one Test bowler were tied at 904 points at the beginning of the Boxing Day Test, which he equaled in Brisbane.Alongside Derek Underwood of England, Bumrah was ranked 17th overall with 907 ranking points. Sydney Barnes of England, with 932 points, is at the top of the list.

After taking six wickets at MCG, Australia captain Pat Cummins gained 15 rating points, moving him up to No. 3.

With 854 rating points, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal soared to a career-high fourth place after his 82-run first-inning knock in the Boxing Day Test.
