Hathurusingha served with Bangladesh from 2014 to 2017.
Former Sri Lanka cricketer and former Sri Lanka head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is set to be named Bangladesh cricket team head coach. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has yet to provide an official update (BCB).
Chandika Hathurusingha is currently the assistant coach of the New South Wales cricket team on the Australian domestic circuit. Cricket New South Wales has also issued an official statement stating that Hathurusingha has decided to part ways with them.
It should be noted that the 54-year-old will “return” to Bangladesh after previously working with the team for three years from 2014 to 2017. Previously, on January 30, 2023, BCB President Nazmul Hassan announced that the new head coach, to replace Russell Domingo, would be named between February 18 and 20. Though no name has been given, it is widely assumed that Hathurasingha will be reinstated.
