The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter made 97 runs off 43 deliveries, including seven fours and nine sixes. The previous West Indies T20I captain shattered the record for most sixes in a calendar year held by batting great Chris Gayle with his spectacular innings that included nine sixes.
During the first 58 Twenty20 matches of 2024, the 28-year-old Pooran has already scored 139 sixes. During the 36 T20 matches in 2015, Gayle had smacked 135 sixes.
