Following the semi-final loss in the T20 World Cup, the focus appears to be on rebuilding the team for a better performance in the ODI World Cup next year. However, the road to that goal has begun on a sour note, with India surrendering a 2-0 series lead to Bangladesh on Wednesday. After the diminutive Mehidy Hasan Miraz led the hosts to a five-run win in the second ODI with a memorable hundred, India’s shoddy batting performance and inability to land the killer blow contributed to their second consecutive series loss in Bangladesh. Miraz tormented the Indian bowlers on his way to his maiden century as Bangladesh recovered to 271 for seven. At 207 for seven, India’s challenge appeared to be all over the place.
