The Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni, according to India all-rounder Shivam Dube, were responsible for his comeback in international cricket.
All-rounder Shivam Dube of India provided evidence for his selection for the Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan by hitting back-to-back half-centuries to give the home team a 2-0 lead in the three-match competition. Dube has been a revelation in this series, rising to the task, especially after the T20 World Cup 2024 selection. He has not lost in any of his two matches thus far. Following India’s thrilling victory against Afghanistan in the second Twenty20 International at Indore, Dube gave a special tribute to MS Dhoni and his Indian Premier League team, the Chennai Super Kings.
Dube, who cost INR 4 crore to acquire before the IPL 2022 auction, has shown himself to be a genuine pace bowling all-rounder, stepping in to replace Hardik Pandya in the Indian squad. Even though Dube always had it in him, he credits Dhoni and CSK for bringing out the best in him.
“I’ve always had the game in me, therefore the credit goes to Mahi bhai and the CSK team. After the game on Jio Cinema, Dube stated, “But CSK is the ones who bring out the best in a player.”
“They’ve given me everything, including confidence, and they’ve told me, ‘Shivam, you can score runs in the IPL, don’t worry, we believe in you.'” And many others, like Mike Hussey and Fleming, informed me that they have faith in me. I had it in my head,” he continued.
With an incredible 63 runs off of 32 balls, Shivam Dube put an end to India’s run chase. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opening batsman, was with him; in just 34 balls, he scored 68 runs. Dube stated that he ought to have concluded the game even sooner, despite just needing to bat for 4.2 overs during the 173-run chase.
“The captain told me it was brilliantly played, and he is quite satisfied. We both know our game and are proficient stroke players. Our strategy was to assault and end the game early, but my job was to take on the spinners. Though we ought to have concluded the game sooner, Dube stated that there was no specific goal in mind.
“Many strategies have been successful; in addition to talent, one important factor is mental preparation for T20 matches. How to manage pressure and choose which bowlers to challenge,” he said in closing.
