After rain extended the IPL 2023 final between CSK and GT to Reserve Day, some fans were found sleeping at the railway station.
The Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans final could not be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday due to rain, hence the game was moved to the Reserve Day. Thousands of spectators who had come to see their teams play were forced to leave without seeing a single delivery bowled. Later that night, some videos and photos of CSK fans sleeping on the floor at a local train station surfaced on social media sites.
Despite the fact that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) enabled spectators to use the same tickets on Reserve Day, a few of fans chose to stay in Motera rather than travel home because they had to return for the final the next day.
Multiple CSK supporters were sighted at the railway station, most likely hoping to catch a glimpse of the ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni before he decides to hang his boots.
If a five-over game is not achievable before the cut-off time of 12:26 AM local time, the match will be decided on Monday. The cut-off time for Super Over to begin is 12:56 AM. If the Super Over is likewise not achievable, the Gujarat Titans will be proclaimed the victors because they finished higher in the tournament’s league stage.
