Rohan Jaitley defeated former India player Kirti Azad in the election to be re-elected as president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA). During the contest for the top spot, Jaitley, 35, son of the late Union Minister Arun Jaitley, received 1,577 votes, while Azad received 777. Up to 2,413 votes were cast, and victory needed 1,207 votes. Without any opposition, Rohan was elected president of the DDCA in 2020, and he defeated advocate Vikas Singh the following year.The daughter of previous BCCI president CK Khanna, Shikha Kumar (1,246 votes), won the vice-presidentship by defeating Sudhir Kumar Agarwal (498) and Rakesh Kumar Bansal (536).
Ashok Sharma (893) was elected secretary, Harish Singla (1328) was elected treasurer, and Amit Grover (1189) was elected joint secretary.
The directors’ positions were claimed by a number of people, including Anand Verma (985), Manjit Singh (1050), Navdeep M (1034), Shyam Sharma (1165), Tushar Saigal (926), Vikas Katyal (1054), and Vikram Kohli (939).
Azad, a current Trinamool Congress MP from the Bardhaman-Durgapur constituency and a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, reported corruption in the DDCA.
For 14 years, the late Arun Jaitley presided over the DDCA as its president.
