On Monday, August 5, South Africa’s top T20 competition, the SA20, announced the appointment of former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik as its brand ambassador. To corroborate the news of Karthik’s joining, SA20 turned to X, the former Twitter.
Karthik expressed his excitement about becoming an ambassador for the Betway SA20. “The first two seasons of the League have been electrifying, showcasing some of the greatest players in the world together with intriguing new talent taking the globe by storm. I am honored to be a part of the Betway SA20, and I am excited to collaborate with Graeme and his group.The 39-year-old former India international has played in the Indian Premier League since its launch in 2008, thus he has extensive expertise of franchise T20 cricket.
Over the course of his 16-year IPL career, he has represented six teams. Karthik has scored 4,842 runs with a strike rate of 135.66 and an average of 26.32 during this time. Along with making 37 stumpings, he has also taken 145 catches behind the wicket.
Karthik has also transformed into one of the top finishers in the shortest format in the later stages of his career by incorporating an explosive component into his style.
