Today, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and DP World, a preeminent supplier of intelligent global supply chain logistics, announced the growth of their collaboration.

Since their partnership in June 2023, the ICC and DP World have collaborated together to distribute cricket equipment to grassroots players and offer astute logistics for ICC events. DP World is now a Premier Partner in the ICC’s portfolio, reaffirming the company’s long-term dedication to the goal of expanding international sports.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will take place from June 1–29 in nine host venues in the USA and the West Indies and feature 55 matches, is rapidly approaching. This announcement comes ahead of schedule. This is the first time the ICC World Cup has been staged in the US; 16 group stage matches will take place in New York, Texas, and Florida.

DP World has already contributed significantly to this World Cup by offering specialized solutions for the 1,200-mile transportation of ten Florida-grown grass pitches to the neighboring practice ground and the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions’ specialized techniques were used to construct the pitches, while LandTek Group, a US-based turf expert, provided ongoing care.
Over twenty vehicles in a fleet moved practice and match pitches northward over the course of two days. The advanced logistics capabilities of DP World ensured that the pitches at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium were transported as efficiently and sustainably as possible. Each pitch was carefully prepared for transit and wrapped to prevent degradation en route to New York.Separately, DP World has also made use of its exceptional position as a global enterprise with operations in 75 countries on six continents to foster grassroots cricket development via the Beyond Boundaries Initiative, which aims to empower communities by supplying kits and equipment via repurposed shipping containers. On the eve of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, the idea was introduced, with ten kits promised for each 100 runs a side scored throughout the competition. More than 2,500 outfits have already been promised, and 1,750 of those kits have been sent to thousands of would-be cricket players in the UAE, South Africa, and India.

Through the expanded partnership, DP World will now closely collaborate with the governing body on the development of its Criiio program, which supports and celebrates the various ways that cricket is played around the world. DP World’s initiative closely aligns with the ICC’s mission to improve cricket systems and grow the game globally.
