On October 18, the BCCI will hold its eagerly anticipated elections and annual general meeting here.
Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, wrote: “The 91st Annual General Meeting of the BCCI, which will be held in Mumbai on October 18, 2022, is officially announced. The agenda is attached as an annex. We will notify you when the AGM is and where it will be held. The 90th AGM’s minutes, which were completed on December 4, 2021, are provided here. The remaining agenda papers will be available soon. You are kindly asked to show up for the meeting.”
The most important item on the agenda for the AGM is “B. Election of the office-bearers of the BCCI-president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer” (a copy of which is in this publication). It will be interesting to watch if Jay Shah, the current secretary and very well-liked among the state units, is elected as the new Board president or if the incumbent, former India Sourav Ganguly, runs for the position again and gets re-elected.
Both can stay in their positions now that the Supreme Court has modified its order regarding the cooling-off period, which was issued on September 14. Arun Dhumal, the current Board treasurer, is being considered for the new secretary position, but it won’t be shocking if the current status is maintained for the sake of consistency.
