New Zealand will be eyeing a third win of the T20 WC when they lock horns with England in their Super 12 clash at The Gabba on Tuesday, November 1.

T20 WC 2022 Super 12 encounter at The Gabba in Brisbane on Tuesday, NOV 1. The Three Lions have three points to their tally having registered a five-wicket victory against Afghanistan. They then suffered a shocking five-run defeat against Ireland via DLS method and their much-awaited clash against arch-rivals Australia at the MCG had to be abandoned due to rain.

The Jos Buttler-led side cannot afford to lose plot from hereon as another defeat could well have their semi-final hopes hanging in the balance. The Group 1 is already highly competitive with all teams benefitting by getting extra points due to washouts and therefore, England must win this match at all costs.

The Kiwis on the other hand are strong contenders for the semis berth from Group 1 and they are on a roll with big wins over the title-holders AUS and Asia Cup champions SL. The BlackCaps could have easily won three out of three had rain not played a spoilsport in their Super 12 clash against Afghanistan. NZ have five points to their tally at an NRR of 3.850.

Pitch Report:

The wicket at The Gabba is a balanced one which can be helpful for both the batters and the bowlers. The bowlers are expected to get lateral seam movement early on in the innings. The humidity levels are expected to rise in the second innings and therefore, the captain winning the toss will bowl first.
