Following a three-match ODI series, India will host England for a five-match T20I series.
The playing XI for Wednesday’s first Twenty20 International match against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata has been revealed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).Under coach Brendon McCullum, who has pledged to uphold the aggressive style of play that has been his hallmark, England is embarking on a new era in white-ball cricket.
While Matthew Mott has remained to coach the side in shorter forms, the former New Zealand captain has concentrated on changing the Test squad since taking over in 2022.
After England failed to defend its T20 and 50-overs World Cup crowns in seven months during 2023–24, Mott resigned last year. As a result, McCullum has been tasked with turning around the team’s limited-overs performance.The five-match T20I series between India and England will be followed by a three-match ODI series.
