Leach suffered the injury during the first Test in Hyderabad, and he missed the second Test at Vishakapatnam.
England spinner Jack Leach will miss the balance of the Test series against India due to a left knee injury, the England Cricket Board (ECB) stated in a statement on Sunday.
Leach missed the second Test in Vishakapatnam after sustaining the injury during the first Test in Hyderabad.
The spinner will return home from Abu Dhabi, where the team is now based, according to an ECB statement, in time for the third Test, which begins in Rajkot on February 15.
The squad will not be bringing up a substitute for the left-armer, the statement added.
Prior to the India tour, 32-year-old Leach was England’s most experienced spinner with 126 wickets in 36 Test matches.
