England star Rehan Ahmed stopped at the airport amid yet another controversy with visas: Report

Due to a problem with his visa, England spinner Rehan Ahmed was unable to travel to India with his colleagues.

Rehan Ahmed, a fellow countryman, is facing a similar problem, around ten days after England bowler Shoaib Bashir got himself embroiled in a visa dispute. After the spinner and the rest of the England team visited Abu Dhabi during the ten-day interval between the second and third Tests, the spinner was barred from entering India. Rehan was reportedly halted at the Rajkot, Hirasar airport because he did not have the proper documentation needed to enter the nation.

According to news sources, Rehan was halted at the airport because he had only a single-entry visa. Given the nature of the task and the gravity of the situation, the local authorities attempted to find a short-term solution and granted him a two-day visa. However, the England camp has been advised to resolve the issue properly within the next two days.

To put it in context, a person with a single-entry visa is not permitted to leave and return to the nation.

However, the England team is optimistic that the problem will be resolved completely over the next 24 hours. Except for Rehan, the rest of the England team’s travelling squad and support staff arrived at their hotel in Rajkot by Monday evening without incident.

“The England team has been told to process the visa again, which will occur within the next two days. Some news reports described a BCCI official as saying, “The player was allowed to enter the country with the rest of the team, and he will appear in practice on Tuesday.”

It’s the first time an international flight has landed straight in Rajkot. As a result, a temporary immigration counter was established, with authorities from Jamnagar overseeing the situation. There were 31 members of the traveling English contingent who were to enter India, and only Rehan experienced a visa issue.

Rehan, unlike Bashir, had no trouble entering India for the first time with the rest of the England squad.

England would like to have the visa issue with Rehan resolved completely because there are three more Tests remaining in the series, the next of which is on February 15.
