Rahul Dravid’s term as Team India’s head coach ended with the T20 World Cup 2024.
Dravid led the Indian squad to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, following disappointments in the 2021 and 2023 ODI World Cups. As the BCCI appointed Gambhir as team captain, Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh turned to social media to offer the ultimate tribute to Dravid, who is still regarded as one of the most respected cricketers in history.
Ritika added in her message that Dravid will be missed by the entire Sharma family, particularly his daughter Samaira.
“So many feelings; you mean so lot to our entire family. You will be missed much. I believe Sammy will miss you the most, she tweets.
“My wife (Ritika Sajdeh) refers to you as my work wife, and I feel fortunate to be able to call you that as well,” Rohit posted on his Instagram page.
“I have been trying to find the right words to properly express my feelings on this, but I’m not sure I ever will,” wrote the Indian skipper, who isn’t known for being too emotional.
“You are an absolute stalwart of this game but you left all of your accolades and achievements at the door and walked in as our coach and came on a level where we all felt comfortable enough to say just about anything to you.
“That is your gift, your humility and your love for this game even after all this time,” Rohit wrote.
