Prithvi Shaw made news lately when, despite having a base price of Rs 75 lakh, she was not sold at the IPL 2025 auction.

Another setback has been given to Prithvi Shaw. Mumbai’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the BCCI’s top domestic one-dayer competition, does not include the great batter, who was once thought to be the next big thing in Indian cricket. Shaw recently made news when, despite having a base price of Rs 75 lakh, he was not sold at the IPL 2025 auction. Additionally, he was unable to play consistently in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. In the final, which Mumbai won, he only managed to score 10.

Shaw’s career has now suffered yet another setback as a result of the most recent event. “Tell me God, what more do I have to see..if 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough…but I will keep my faith in you and hopefully people believe in me still..cause I will come back for sure..OM SAI RAM,” Shaw posted on his Instagram account.

Although Prithvi Shaw’s decline from prodigy to prodigal has been rapid and appears to be irreversible, Shreyas Iyer believes the Mumbai batter can reach the heights he deserves if he “gets his work ethics right.” In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which Mumbai won under Shreyas, Shaw showed off his extraordinary skill by scoring 197 runs in nine games, although he was unable to reach even fifty.

Personally, I believe that he is a divinely gifted musician. No one else has the talent he does on an individual basis. After Mumbai defeated Madhya Pradesh by five wickets in this SMAT final, Iyer stated, “He just needs to work on his work ethics.””He needs to improve his work ethics.” And the possibilities are endless for him if he does that,” he stated.

Iyer, however, believed that Shaw should be the one to feel the need to embrace redemption.

“You mean we can’t watch anyone? He has played cricket a lot. He has received input from everyone. Ultimately, it is his responsibility to solve problems on his own. Additionally, he has done it before. He stated, “It’s not that he hasn’t.”Iyer explained his idea by saying: “He needs to concentrate. He has to take a break and put on a thinking cap. He’ll figure out the answer on his own. Nobody has the authority to make him do anything.
