Additionally, Kwena Maphaka has been added as a travel reserve.
In South Africa’s 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan later this month, bowling all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been selected to replace the injured Anrich Nortje.
Bosch, 30, was one of the most impressive seamers in SA20 champions MI Cape Town’s season, but he made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December, earning figures of 1 for 69 in nine overs. Kwena Maphaka, a fast bowler, has also been included in the team as a traveling reserve. Gerald Coetzee has previously been out due to a groin injury, and Lizaad Williams and Beuran Hendricks have also been recuperating from ailments.
Along with opener Tony de Zorzi, Bosch and Maphaka will travel to Karachi on Sunday to play the rest of the tri-nation ODI series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
Yasir Arafat, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, has joined the South Africa men’s support team as a consultant for the Champions Trophy and the tri-nation series.
