Former captain of the England cricket team, Nasser Hussain, believes it would be challenging to predict any team other than India as potential winners of the 2023 World Cup.
The former captain of the England cricket team, Nasser Hussain, believes the No. 1 ranked ODI side and World Cup 2023 hosts, India, are the favorites to win the 50-over ICC tournament. Hussain backed the host, saying that their home ground advantage and their amazing performance have positioned them as the world’s number one team in One Day International.Nasser said, “It’s hard to look beyond India. They’re ranked No. 1 in the world, plus history tells you that playing at home is a huge advantage. England won it four years ago, Australia in 2015 when hosting, and India themselves back in 2011. They’re also just a very good side, with basically all bases covered. They’ll be very hard to beat.”India ranks as the second-strongest team in the World Cup, trailing only behind Australia. They had a world cup back in 1983 and 2011, and they reached the final but faced defeat in 2003.
