A former Indian star gives a blunt warning to the opener of the Chennai Super Kings before the start of IPL season 2023.
Former opener of the Indian Cricket Team, Aakash Chopra, is puzzled by Stokes’ inclusion in the squad of the Chennai Super Kings. During a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that Stokes likes to build his inning rather than go for the offensive straight way. He also said that the Chennai Super Kings already have a similar player to Stokes in the form of Ruthuraj Gaikwad.
Chopra said that, “As we saw in the World Cup as well, he likes to take his time in the middle.” He plays better at No. 3 as well, and in the IPL, his only century came when he batted up in the order. So, it’s hard to understand what’s happening there. “Uthappa isn’t there anymore, so were they searching for his replacement?”
Further talking about Gaikwad, the former India opener stated that Ruturaj needs to bring more aggression to his game.
He said that “it is possible that Ruturaj Gaikwad hits the ground running.” Right now, he starts slowly and picks up speed as he builds the innings. But the days of diesel engines are over; we have EVs now. Ruturaj has to become an electric vehicle.
