Gary Kirsten, Pakistan’s white-ball head coach, will manage the Champions Cup local one-day tournament, in which all contracted players have been invited to compete.
Kirsten will be assisted by physiotherapist Cliff Deacon and strength coach Dreks Simon in assessing players’ performance and fitness before Pakistan’s white-ball matches this season.
The three will also administer fitness tests to the national Test squad and other international players.
Jason Gillispie, the red ball format head coach, and Tim Nielsen, the high performance coach, will depart for Australia on Wednesday, following the end of their series against Bangladesh.

Despite the defeats to Bangladesh, a trustworthy source close to the Pakistan team stated that no big changes were planned because both Gillespie and Kirsten had been granted full powers by the Pakistan Cricket Board to guarantee continuity in selection and other areas.
“Both have told the PCB it has to be patient and not take decisions based on a run of bad form for the team in all formats,” according to a source.
