After an eight-month interim term, Allardice was named CEO of the ICC in November 2021.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) declared that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be leaving his position. “Over the previous 13 years, I would want to express my gratitude to the ICC Chair, the board of directors, and the entire cricket community for their cooperation and support. I think that this is the ideal moment for me to step down and take on new challenges. In the statement, he expressed his belief that cricket has exciting days ahead and wished the ICC and the international cricket community continued success.In 2012, Allardice became the General Manager of Cricket at the ICC after leaving Cricket Australia. In November 2021, he was named CEO of the ICC. His successor has not yet been announced by the board.
