Hardik Pandya summed up the challenge of playing against the captain of Chennai Super Kings, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, after CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023.
The captain of Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya, was not remorseful after facing defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Tuesday. While chasing the target of 173 runs, Gujarat ended up 15 runs short of the target. After the match, Hardik Pandya admitted that the brilliance of Dhoni made the opponent team feel that his team had put 10 runs more than the actual score on the board.
When Hardik Pandya was asked about the challenge of playing against Dhoni, he said, “That’s the beauty about Dhoni; with his mind and the way he uses the bowlers, he’ll make sure that you’ll feel like he’s adding 10 runs. We kept losing wickets, and he kept making sure that he used the right bowlers. I was happy for him as well. It would be a really good sight to meet him on Sunday if we can win the next game.”
Hardik was sad that some basic errors committed by his team cost them the match.
