In the 2018 Legends League Cricket, Gujarat Giants and India Capitals will be led by former India opening duo Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.
The Adani Group owns the Gujarat Giants, whereas GMR Sportsline is the proprietor of the India Capitals.
“I can’t wait to return to the cricket field. This cricketing innings can be restarted perfectly with the help of Gujarat Giants, a professional team, and Adani Groups Team Principal. I personally have always advocated playing brave cricket, and I’ll keep doing it here as well, said Gujarat Giants captain Virender Sehwag.
On the other hand, Gambhir is one of India’s top run scorers in the shortest format and was renowned for the legendary intensity he brought to his game.
“I’ve always thought that playing cricket is a team sport, and that a captain is only as good as his squad. Even though I will be the captain of the India Capital steam, I will be advocating for a spirited group that is hungry to compete and succeed as a unit. I’m excited for the upcoming action and wish Legends League Cricket the best of luck,” stated Gambhir.
In six different cities, it will be played for the first time ever in India. Starting on September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the league will then move on to Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack, and Jodhpur.
Playoff and championship game locations have not yet been chosen.
