Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain, turned 52 on July 8.
On his 52nd birthday, former cricketers Manoj Tiwary and Munaf Patel sent birthday greetings to the former captain of India, Sourav Ganguly. As Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ganguly—whom former teammate Rahul Dravid dubbed the “God of Off-side”—continues to make numerous outstanding contributions to the game of cricket. “You have always been an inspiration, and you always will be. On X, Tiwary commented, “Love you Dada and wishing you a very happy birthday.”
In addition to sending his best wishes, Patel praised Ganguly for his contributions to the growth of Indian cricket.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ganguly captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during his stellar career. The IPL team wished for their former skipper and wrote “Maharaja” as the caption for a post on X. Papa. The Kolkata Prince. To Sourav Ganguly, happy birthday.”
Despite his ability to hit with both elegance and surgical accuracy, his career had come to a complete standstill until he scored an incredible century on his debut at Lord’s in 1996. Later that year, he and Sachin Tendulkar formed one of the most formidable opening combinations in history, and he was promoted to the top of the ODI order.
Ganguly’s unique leadership style was well-known during his playing career. He was dubbed “Dada” after making his Test debut against England in the summer of 1996. His century in the first Test match at Lord’s brought him instant notoriety. The ‘Prince of Kolkata’ went on to smash a century in the second Test match, making history as the third batter to score a century in each of his first two innings.
