The Mumbai Indians have finally received good news: their great batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, is set to return.
After a dismal beginning to their campaign, the five-time IPL champions are in desperate need of their star batter. With three straight losses, the Mumbai Indians are languishing at the bottom of the points table under new captain Hardik Pandya.
In addition to their poor bowling performance thus far, the Mumbai Indians’ batting has also shown unreliable. In the opening encounter, they were 129 for 3 at one point but were unable to chase down 169 against Gujarat Titans, ultimately losing by six runs. They lost their second match by 31 runs after giving up 277/3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians lost their third game by six wickets after they were only able to score 125/9 at home against Rajasthan Royals. The return of Suryakumar Yadav is expected to provide much-needed support to the Mumbai Indians as they strive frantically to turn things around. It is said that the BCCI medical team has given the right-handed batsman clearance to participate in the 2024 Indian Premier League.Due to an ankle ailment and a sports hernia, he hasn’t participated in a competitive game since December of last year.
He is still not playing competitive cricket after needing two surgeries. Just prior to the commencement of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), he had a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), but was not cleared.
“We wanted to make sure that when Surya goes back to Michigan, he is 100 percent fit and ready to play games,” a BCCI source stated. During his first pre-IPL fitness test, he wasn’t feeling well, so we waited to see if he experienced any pain while batting.
The article also stated that Suryakumar Yadav will probably play in the Mumbai Indians’ upcoming match on Sunday, April 7, against the Delhi Capitals.
