During the IPL 2024 match against the Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians batsman Romario Shepherd hit 32 runs in the final over to set a new IPL record.

Romario Shepherd, a batsman for the Mumbai Indians, crushed 32 runs in the last over of Sunday’s IPL 2024 match against the Delhi Capitals to set a huge record. With two fours and four sixes to record the most expensive over of the tournament this year, Shepherd took fast bowler Anrich Nortje to task. The West Indies batsman opened the over by hitting a straight four down the ground and then a six over long-on. The third delivery from Nortje was a straight one but Shepherd shuffled across the stumps and heaved it for another six on the leg-side. A six over sweeper cover and a four through long-on followed with Shepherd finishing the show with a massive hit over wide long-on.

The Mumbai Indians dressing room was utterly taken aback by the devastating batting display, with Sachin Tendulkar praising the effort and captain Hardik Pandya’s reactions going viral on social media.
In an IPL match on Sunday, the Mumbai Indians batting unit struck in harmony to register an impressive 234 for 5 against Delhi Capitals. Romario Shepherd scorched 32 runs off Anrich Nortje’s 20th over.
With his 10-ball-39 not out, Shepherd wrecked havoc on Nortje, hitting four sixes and two fours, and guaranteeing MI’s fourth-highest innings total this IPL. At Wankhede, this was also their highest total. In 4 overs, Nortje’s final score was a pitiful 2 for 65.

Being dismissed for 40 in 3 overs suggests that Ishant Sharma, who is probably playing in his final IPL season, is a ghost of the player he used to be.

Although Shepherd arrived late to the celebration, it appeared that she had the most fun. At the Wankhede Stadium, batting conditions were favourable for him, and he amassed a respectable 49 runs off 27 balls, Ishan Kishan (42 off 23 balls), Hardik Pandya (39 off 30), and Tim David (45 not out off 21 balls, 2 fours, 4 sixes).

However, Suryakumar Yadav’s debut game since mid-December of last year ended in a disappointing fashion as he was dismissed for a two-ball duck.
