Prithvi Shaw was reinstated to the side for the New Zealand T20Is after an outstanding domestic run, while Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were given their first Test calls.
The BCCI also confirmed that KL Rahul and Axar Patel will miss the New Zealand series owing to family obligations, while Ravindra Jadeja has been added in the Test team subject to his health.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has selected India’s teams for the forthcoming Mastercard New Zealand Tour of India, which includes three One-Day Internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals,” the BCCI stated in a statement.
Also, Jasprit Bumrah will miss the first two Tests. The first Test will be played in Nagpur from February 9.
