Baroda’s 18-man team for the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which starts across sites on Saturday, now includes Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder for Team India. The first match for Baroda’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy team, captained by Krunal Pandya, will take place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore against Gujarat. “The Apex Committee Members and the BCA President extend a hearty welcome to Hardik Pandya’s return to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.”
“We cordially welcome your return to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Hardik Pandya, on behalf of the BCA President and Apex Committee Members.”
Hardik Pandya has been added to the Mumbai Indians’ retention list ahead of the November 23 and 24 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, so he doesn’t have to worry about impressing the IPL scouts. The all-rounder’s appearance in the Baroda jersey is more consistent with the BCCI’s rule that top cricket players must participate in domestic competitions. His goal will therefore be to stay up to date with the game and perhaps assist Baroda in winning a rare championship.
