On Sunday, star midfielder Hardik Singh of India was elected captain of the UP Rudras for the forthcoming Hockey India League (HIL) season.
Leading India midfielder Hardik Singh was named the UP Rudras’ captain for the forthcoming Hockey India League (HIL) season on Sunday. In addition to rising phenom Priyobarta Talem and Gurjot Singh, the Lucknow franchise, which is owned by Yadu Sports, has a formidable team that includes some of the biggest names in Indian and international hockey, such as Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Simranjeet Singh, Lars Balk, and Kane Russell. As a real leader both on and off the field, I would like to congratulate Hardik on his selection as the team’s captain on behalf of the whole Yadu Sports family. According to Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, co-founder of Yadu Sports, “I had the opportunity to meet Paul, Thomas, and Cedric at the auctions.”
“I believe that the squad we have assembled is full of leaders, and they have all it takes to play mesmerizing hockey and win the people’s hearts,” said the business owner.
“We were confident that Hardik would lead the team, so he was our first choice at the auctions,” said Paul Van Ass, head coach of the UP Rudras. His continuous success for India and his inclusion in the Indian squad that won two consecutive Olympic bronze medals is no small accomplishment.
“We are sure that with his ability to understand the nuances and intricacies of the game, he will not only lead the team well but will also bring the best out of those around him.” Hardik conveyed his thankfulness and enthusiasm for his new position.
“I am really appreciative to our management team for providing me with this chance. Leading UP Rudras in this Hockey India League season will be an absolute pleasure, he declared.
Being the captain and representative of a team from the hometown of the renowned Dhyanchand Ji is the ultimate dream for a player. We have a great team that is strong in all areas, and more significantly.”
