England needed 21 runs off Andre Russell’s final over, and Brook smashed a winning 4,6,6,2,6.
On Saturday, England batter Harry Brook produced one of the most exciting finishes in T20 international cricket history as his team faced the West Indies. With England needing 21 runs from the final six balls to win the second T20I, Brook stepped up and provided spectacular fireworks to win the match, tying the series 1-1. Up against Andre Russell, a bowler who allows batters less than an inch in death overs, Brook hammered the deliveries all over the park, just in time for the forthcoming Indian Premier League auction.
Brook began with a boundary near the fine leg region, guiding Russell’s attempted yorker with a flick of his wrist. Brook then hit a six over the covers to increase his and England’s confidence by scoring 10 runs off two balls.
Russell’s full throw on Brook’s legs resulted in the England batter scooping the ball over the fine leg boundary for a six, leaving only 5 runs to be scored off the next three balls. Brook attempted to hit the short-pitched ball for a boundary but only got a double.Russell’s wide wider ball was then sent over the third man boundary for a six, with Brook completing a miraculous turnaround to win the game for his side, tying the series 1-1.
