Chahal did not play in the 2024 T20 World Cup, as Kuldeep Yadav was picked.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini honored leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, a member of India’s triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 team, on Thursday. The Chief Minister presented Chahal with a shawl and an idol, and congratulated the Indian spinner on their victory. Chahal was part of the 15-man roster, although he did not appear in a single match throughout India’s undefeated run. After securing a position in the Super 8 on a difficult surface in New York that aided pacers, India made a change in their playing XI. In the West Indies, where the pitches were duel-faced, Kuldeep Yadav was chosen over Chahal in the playing XI.

Upon replacing Mohammed Siraj, the ‘Chinaman’ spinner emerged with performances that won contests, claiming 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.95 in five games.

After defeating South Africa in the Barbados final, India went on to become the first team to win the T20 World Cup without a loss.

Last Monday, India arrived in New Delhi, ending their 13-year absence from the ICC World Cup. The national team that won the World Cup met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence after arriving in the city.

On Thursday afternoon, the players left for Mumbai after visiting with Prime Minister Modi. Marine Drive to the famous Wankhede Stadium was the route of the Men in Blue’s triumphant open-bus march in Bombay.

Before the bus could even load Indian players, thousands of spectators flocked to Marine Drive, making the parade something to marvel at and remember.

Following their victory procession, the Indian cricket players danced to the sounds of dhol at the festivities being held at Wankhede Stadium.

The team arrived at Wankhede to thunderous applause, chants, and cheers from fervent supporters. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office-bearers presented them with a cheque worth Rs 125 crore at the Wankhede.
