Murphy was given his debut cap by Nathan Lyon in Nagpur, ahead of the first India-Australia Test.

Todd Murphy, the 465th male player to wear the Baggy Green cap, recently came forward and compared the 22-year-mentality old’s to that of legendary Australian bowler Shane Warne. The Murphys travelled a long distance to Nagpur to see Todd represent the national side in the Baggy Greens as the 22-year-old Murphy finally received his debut game for the Aussies. Murphy’s father, Jamie, left Moama at 2 a.m. and drove three hours to Melbourne, where he flew to Nagpur via Sydney and Bangalore.
Jamie, Todd’s brother Joel, Todd’s uncle Troy, Todd’s cousin Riley, and Todd’s partner Bec were all at the VCA stadium to see Todd make his debut and represent Australia in the first Test against India.
