Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh helped India to a 7-wicket victory in Group 2 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. India stumbled while chasing a 150-run target, but Ghosh and Rodrigues put up an unbeaten 58-run stand to send India home with an over to spare. Bismah Maroof and Ayesha Naseem had earlier put on an 81-run stand to help Pakistan reach 149/4. Ayesha smashed a 25-ball 43 and Maroof scored 68. With 2/21, Radha Yadav was India’s best bowler.
In the MEGA CLASH, Pakistan captain Bimsah Maroof won the toss and chose to bat first against India. With a finger injury, India Women Cricket Team opener Smriti Mandhana will miss the high-voltage ICC T20 World Cup 2023 opener. Harleen Deol takes her place.
