Will Jacks responded to Cameron Green’s post on the RCB victory in Hindi with a humorous message.
At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a stunning comeback to triumph by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 35 runs. Cameron Green was a standout all-around player, but Rajat Patidar took home the Player of the Match honours. In addition to taking two wickets for 12 runs in two overs, the Australian hit an undefeated 37 off 20. Green posted on social media following his team’s second victory of the campaign to celebrate, and teammate Will Jacks responded with a hilarious remark. On Instagram, Green wrote, “It’s great to be back on the winners list.” Jack wrote back, “Yes, Green Bhai.”
Green scored 37 runs from 20 balls with a strike rate of 185 during an undefeated first inning of the game. Despite not hitting any sixes, the 24-year-old all-rounder smacked five fours, and in his subsequent two-over performance, he also claimed two wickets.
Green praised the head coach and captain of the RCB, Faf Du Plessis, on the team’s accomplishments during the post-match press conference. In addition, he praised the opposition and noted that they did a good job batting while pursuing.
“We constantly need to acknowledge and appreciate our small victories, and right now we’re feeling terrific. Thank you to the captain and coach; the main reason was that SRH has been batting brilliantly. I like to bat up the order, but I’m still figuring things out as I’m still early in my career. It’s always enjoyable to win one and have to take pleasure in this,” Green remarked.
Recounting the game, RCB chose to bat first after winning the toss. In the powerplay, team captain Faf Du Plessis (25), along with Virat Kohli, set the pace for the squad. Rajat Patidar (50) gave the RCB innings new life after they had stalled after the powerplay.
Virat was dismissed for 51 in 43 balls, four boundaries and a six, unable to capitalise on his strong start during the powerplay. Despite some quick wickets, Cameron Green (37) and Swapnil Singh (12) helped RCB to 206/7 in their 20 overs.
SRH’s top bowlers were Jaydev Unadkat (3/30) and T Natrajan (2/39). Pat Cummins and Mayank Markande both claimed a wicket.
SRH lost wickets at frequent intervals during the run chase. Except for Abhishek Sharma (31), none of the preceding SRH stars, including Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, or Nitish Reddy, had an effect. Skipper Cummins (31) and Shahbaz Ahmed (40) fought hard, but SRH were dismissed for 171 in 20 overs.
