On the 25th anniversary of his passing, Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to his late father.
On Sunday, the 25th anniversary of his father Ramesh Tendulkar’s passing, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar penned a poignant tribute in memory of him. Tendulkar remarked that he still thinks his father is with him on his official X account. The 51-year-old also remembered the day when, at the age of 26, his father passed away. Tendulkar too aspires to be a good steward of his father’s principles.
Even though Baba has been gone from us for twenty-five years, he still seems to be present when I stand by his old chair. Now that I’m 51 years old, I can plainly see just how profoundly he touched my life and the lives of many others, even though I was only 26 at the time. It was very moving to return to this location on the anniversary of his death, forty-three years later. His warmth and insight still motivate me. Tendulkar wrote on X, “I hope I am living up to the values you instilled in me, Baba. I miss you every single day.”
