Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands have partnered to form the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), a privately held franchise event.
The European T20 Premier League, a brand-new yearly T20 franchise competition that will debut from July 15 to August 3, 2025, was formally sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday.Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands have partnered to form the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), a privately held franchise competition.In the early stages of the tournament’s formation, representatives from the participating cricket boards formed a “interim working group.” In order to facilitate decision-making and manage the resources of a new administrative organization to manage the event, the financial partners introduced Rules Sport Tech as a strategic partner.”We are happy to confirm the ICC sanction of the ETPL and agreements are now in place across the joint venture partners,” stated Warren Deutrom, the chair of the interim working group. This is a crucial day for the event’s preparation because it essentially sets the stage for work in three key areas: player draft, broadcast, and franchise ownership.
