With 50 off 75 balls, Harry Dixon steadied the innings, while Ollie Peake struck an amazing 49 off 75 balls and Tom Campbell got 25 off 42. Rafael MacMillan, the vice captain, maintained his composure to strike the winning runs at the end with 19* off 29 balls as the Australians ultimately lost. At the end, Vidler continued to play, contributing 3* off 9 balls. Australia just crossed the finish line, but the team in the field scored nine additional runs.
Pakistan has a history of success in the competition, having won the U19 World Cup twice previously in 2004 and 2006, but their early batting collapse proved costly.
