India will play England in a five-match series in June, which will be their next significant Test match.
The BCCI assessed India’s dismal tour of Australia with head coach Gautam Gambhir and under-fire captain Rohit Sharma in a two-hour meeting on Sunday. However, the Board opted against a hasty reaction to the disaster, which was primarily attributed to the poor performance of top players. Rohit and Gambhir attended the meeting, which took place at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. Other attendees were BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary-elect Devajit Saikia.
“The Border Gavaskar Trophy performance, what went wrong, and the necessary course adjustment were all covered in depth. However, do not anticipate a hasty decision from the new BCCI administration,” a source familiar with Board events told PTI under anonymity.
After losing against Australia 1-3, India gave up the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in ten years. Due to the loss in the five-match series, the squad was also eliminated from the World Test Championship final in June of this year.It is acknowledged that any quick response would negatively affect both the players and the support personnel, especially because a significant ODI competition such as the Champions Trophy is still six weeks away.
Rohit, the national ODI captain, received a lot of criticism for his lackluster batting display in Australia.
Only after the Champions Trophy, which ends on March 9, will the team be given a break. Following that, the players will be seen wearing the colors of their respective IPL teams.

It is being speculated that Rohit, 37, will not be chosen for that series. Even if it is thought that Virat Kohli is currently in a little stronger position, his future is also being scrutinized.
In the first match in Perth, Kohli scored a century, while Rohit only scored 31 runs in Australia, which led him to withdraw from the fifth and final Test.
Many BCCI members feel that there is no need to make a decision immediately because the next Test series is still more than five months away. The course that Rohit and Kohli’s careers take in the upcoming months, however, will be greatly influenced by their performances in the Champions Trophy.
When senior off-spinner R Ashwin abruptly retired mid-series after not playing in most of the games he was there, it was clear that the Indian Test setup was in disarray during a challenging transition.
