The two international cricket stadiums in the state, Visakhapatnam and Mangalagiri, are also being upgraded by the ACA.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), led by its new president, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), is poised to grow and turn Andhra Pradesh into a cricket talent hotspot.

In Mulapadu, Vizianagaram, and Anantapur, the ACA hopes to establish three specialized academies for senior, junior, and women cricket players, respectively, taking inspiration from the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

The Vizianagaram and Anantapur academies’ construction would be finished in the next month and a half, Sivanath told TNIE. In addition, the Mulapadu Cricket Stadium, which is close to Vijayawada, is planned to be developed as a Center of Excellence to compete with Bengaluru’s well-known facilities. The ACA wants to improve cricket facilities around the state. In all 175 AP assembly constituencies, Sivanath unveiled plans to build cricket grounds complete with nets, pitches, and coaching facilities. Developing rural potential and preparing athletes for national and international tournaments are the goals of this program. Fifty grounds will be completed in the first phase in less than a year.
