Pacer Tushar Deshpande of Mumbai and India had ankle surgery in London after being unable to play in the Duleep Trophy’s second round. The right-arm pacer posted on social media on Tuesday to disclose his operation. Mumbai’s 30-man probable roster for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy season did not include him.
He wrote, “This post serves as an update regarding my ankle surgery, which was completed yesterday and went extremely well.”
Having dealt with it for a considerable amount of time, I am really relieved. For their love, support, and good wishes, my family, friends, and all of my fans have my sincere gratitude. Deshpande, who debuted internationally during India’s July tour of Zimbabwe, continued, “I’m starting my journey now to recover better than before and comeback stronger.”
Mumbai achieved a record-breaking 43rd Ranji Trophy title win in the 2023–24 season thanks to a 15 wicket haul in five matches from Deshpande.
On October 11, the split-format Ranji Trophy 2024–25 will get underway with the reigning champion playing Baroda away at Vadodara.
