Virat Kohli played in the simulated match versus India A at WACA and scored 15 and 30 not out in his two appearances.

Virat Kohli only scored 15 runs during his brief 15–20 minute maiden appearance in the match simulation at WACA before being dismissed by Mukesh Kumar. After KL Rahul exited the field because of an elbow injury, Kohli moved into the middle. Shubman Gill and Kohli were left in the middle after Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s second opening batsman, also left early. Even though Kohli appeared eager to use some of his signature drives, the bounce the WACA pitch produced from most areas prevented him from being successful every time.Navdeep Saini, Prasidh Krishna, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Mukesh Kumar were among the bowlers that Kohli faced. According to Cricbuzz, Mukesh posed the greatest threat to Kohli out of the group. Mukesh made it tough for Kohli by getting the ball to skid. At one point, the ball even touched Virat’s bat’s underside before landing on the ground directly in front of the slip cordon.

While attempting to connect a fifth stump delivery, Kohli eventually left for Mukesh despite producing some superb cover drives. With the assistance of throwdown experts, Virat headed to the nets to work on his batting technique. With a greater sense of rhythm, he went back to the center. Whether it was his hand-eye coordination or his ability to judge line and length, Kohli performed flawlessly before exiting the field after reaching 30 runs without losing his wicket.

Players like Rishabh Pant, Gill, and Jaiswal also kept switching between nets practice and simulation games. After gaining a lot of practice in the middle, Kohli was spotted making jokes with Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah to keep the mood light before the series began.A significant doubt for the Perth Test, Gill suffered a thumb injury during the simulation game. Being the oldest player on the team, Virat is expected to lead India’s batting unit since Rohit Sharma is also probably going to miss the match in Perth.

While all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is anticipated to make his debut, Dhruv Jurel may be added to the team as a pure batter for the Perth Test.
