Prior to the first Test match against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma and company underwent yet another rigorous training session at the Chepauk, with all 16 members of the squad showing up for drills.

Rohit Sharma and his team enjoyed another extended training session ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh on Monday, with all 16 squad members coming out for practice at the Chepauk in Chennai. Following a day off, the India squad members participated in their third training session since arriving here last week. The first Test starts on Thursday. As is customary, Virat Kohli was among the first hitters to hit the nets. Yashasvi Jaiswal, a southpaw, was in the adjacent net as he and Kohli faced Jasprit Bumrah and hometown hero R Ashwin.

The following batch of batters were Rohit, Shubman Gill, and Sarfaraz Khan, the latter of whom had arrived in Anantapur after competing in the second round of the Duleep Trophy. The captain concentrated on playing spinners while keeping Bangladesh’s sluggish bowling attack in mind.

Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and pacer Mohammed Siraj all faced local bowlers and a lot of throwdowns.

The practise pitch at the main square had a decent bounce.

India will have two more practice sessions before the series start against Bangladesh, who are riding high after a series sweep in Pakistan. In the playing eleven, the majority of players choose themselves. India is likely to start the match with three spinners and two pacers because the Chennai surface normally favours the spinners.

Ashwin, Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav are the anticipated spinners, and Bumrah and Siraj will split the speed department equally. Despite his strong all-around performances in a variety of formats, Axar Patel could have to sit out.

After a nearly two-year absence, Pant is anticipated to make his Test comeback as a batsman. In such scenario, Dhruv Jurel, who performed admirably in his first series against England, will be benched.
