On Sunday, June 9, Team India won their second match in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in New York, defeating Pakistan by six runs in a low-scoring thriller. This was India’s eighth T20 World Cup victory over Pakistan, the most for a side against a single opponent.

In Sunday, June 9, the much-anticipated match between Team India and Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in New York, was won by Team India thanks to a strong defense of a modest target of 120 runs, the lowest for India in T20Is. Although India’s first innings score of 120 was only the second highest in the venue’s five matches, the pitch at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York seemed to be improving with each passing game. For example, it appeared to be leveling out more slowly than it had in the previous games.

India defended a low total, which is the joint-lowest for any team in the T20 World Cup, thanks to some disciplined bowling spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and an overly cautious attitude from the Pakistani team. India has now defeated Pakistan seven times in the main event, more than any other team has ever done against a single foe. In the event, both Sri Lanka and Pakistan have defeated the West Indies six times each. Pakistan has also defeated Bangladesh six times.

Additionally, after getting bowled out, India won a men’s T20I match for the first time. India appeared to be headed for a 140–150 total at 81/3 in 10 overs, but Pakistan responded with a powerful bowling attack to limit the opponents to 119. Although they would have liked to chase the mark down, it was ultimately not to be.
